Laurentio Chrysogonus was a 17^th-century Jesuit theologian and professor. While little else is known of his life, several works have been attributed to him including ‘Mundi Mariani’ – a work of praise to the Virgin Mary. Chrysogonus thought the holy mother to have the same or more power as Jesus himself –

“To the most holy Virgin all things are possible, because of the most high dignity of her Divine maternity, which brought her an infinite power and empire in the things of all the world.” (Lansing, quoting Chrysogonus)
