1703 ILLUSTRATED Bible Art JESUS & Apostles William Cave Church Fathers Folio
William Cave was a 17th-century English chaplain of the Church of England who wrote one of the most important histories of church fathers. ‘Antiquitates Apostlicae’, or ‘The History of Lives of Holy Apostles’ is biographical history of the Apostles of Jesus Christ. It contains the lives of Peter, Paul, Andrew, James of Zebedee, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James (the less), Simon, Jude, Matthias, Mark, and Luke. One of Cave’s other important works is ‘The History of Jesus’; a work providing biblical commentary on the ministry, crucifixion, and resurrection of Christ.
