Frontinus was a 1^st-century Roman Senator known for his military command in Roman-ruled Britain and his treatise on the aqueducts of Rome. ‘Strategematum’ is a collection of military stratagems for generals from Greek and Roman history most of which was written from first-hand war experience in the Gallic Wars.

 

This 1686 printing of ‘Strategematum’ was published in London by Heyrick, translated by Marius D’Assigny.
