Written by Antonio Mascis, ‘Vocabolario Toscano’ is a Turkish and Tuscan dictionary published in 1677 Florence. This book, which resembles Giovanni Molino’s 1641 Turkish dictionary, is a lexicon of phonetics and grammar of the Turkish language. Mascis draws from Persian, Arabic, Tartar, and Greek words to help clarify many of the rudiments of the Turkish language.

 

Published only one time, this book is notoriously rare – in fact, only one auction record was found from the last 20 years!
