1672 Medieval Manuscript Trophaea Romana Catholic Lutheran Propaganda vs Jesuit
Vitus Erbermann was an important 17th-century German Jesuit known for his controversial viewpoints against Protestant Europe. His most memorable book was ‘Trophaea Romana Catholicae Ecclesiae’ in which he argued against Lutheranism for the sake of the Jesuit order. Oddly though, Erbermann was born into the Lutheran Church but was led into Catholicism and openly opposed Protestant theologians who were converting to Lutheranism.
