William Crashaw was a late 16^th-century English cleric who published numerous Protestant sermons and theological treatises. One of his lesser-known works was ‘A Tything Table’ – a book on the financial expectations of the Church of England according to the biblical and ecclesiastical laws. Crashaw includes lists of terms associated with tithes and ecclesiastical finances, both in their English and Latin equivalencies, and also addresses questions regarding tithing goods, rather than just money.
