1659 Chauliac Grande Chirurgie Medieval Surgery Medicine French Joubert Illustrated

Guy de Chauliac was a 14th-century physician and surgeon who is remembered primarily for his extensive surgery treatise ‘Chirurgia Magna’. It was one of the most important medieval works on human anatomy, bloodletting, medicine and drugs, wounds, fractures, and ulcers. Chauliac describes early attempts of tracheotomy and suturing procedures.

This 17th-century French edition was edited and supplemented with annotations by Laurent Joubert.
