In 1565, French Protestant Theodore Beza issued an edition of the Greek New Testament with the Vulgate. His translation of the New Testament would become extremely important and popular throughout Europe, especially among Calvinists. According to many scholars, Beza’s interpretation of the text, along with his translation, were extremely helpful to theological scholars who came after him.

This 17th-century Biblia Sacra features the famous Beza New Testament as well as the Junius & Tremellius Old Testament Latin translation. The Tremellius-Junius Bible, an important Reformed translation, was very influential on Reformation dogmatics which helped shape Protestant theology in the 18th-century. According to Fletcher, the pairing of these two translations are often found printed together. It features the Junius Apocrypha and a preface of Andrew Marvell (Andreas Rivetus).
