Robert Parsons was a 16^th-century English Jesuit who was a catalyst in the establishment of a Jesuit mission in England. Parsons wrote numerous works relating to Catholicism and Jesuit theology – defenses of Jesuit doctrine, justification of Catholic practices, attempts at conversion of Protestants, etc.

 

In November of 1591, Queen Elizabeth made an anti-Catholic declaration against Jesuit seminary students, priests, and clergy. Parsons responded with his book “Elizabethae, Angliae Reginae haeresin Caluinianam propugnantis”.
