Girolamo Mercuriale’s “De Oculorum et Aurium Affectibus” is a rare, 16^th-century treatise on the afflictions and diseases of the eyes and ears. Mercuriale describes treating cornea fogginess, defects in the crystalline humour (i.e. eye lens), preventing and treating severe hearing loss and deafness, and much more. This particular work is the second volume of a 1590 Venetian printing from Juntas.

 

Julius Gustavinii was a 16^th-century Genevan physician known for his medical practice in Pisa. This book contains descriptions of his medical discoveries, treatments, and differences in disease symptoms.
