1573 Orations of CICERO Rome Political Philosophy Latin Brutus Dialogues Lambin
“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”
― Marcus Tullius Cicero
Cicero was one of the most important Ancient Roman philosophers, known for his orations and political views, many of which shaped the development of thought in the Western world. His writings and speeches have had a lasting influence that is far greater than nearly any other individual, most notably his orations.
This 16th-century edition of Cicero’s ‘Orations’ includes the famous Denis Lambin edition. In 1566, French scholar Lambin published his edition of the works of Cicero, an edition that is still considered useful. Taken from the complete works, this two volume set includes some of the following famous works and speeches:
- The Orations
- Brutus
- In Verrum
- Pro Caecina
- Ad Herennium
- De Inventione
